Don’t Scrap Alone! At least not always.

I hate a great camera. And a window with lots of light. And I am always disappointed in how my layouts photograph. Anyone else have that same problem?

My sister, on the other hand, photographs VERY well.

Alison came over to scrapbook on Saturday and while I tend to turn to PageMaps when I need a design kickstart, she asked me for one of my scrapbook albums and used my old layouts for inspiration. She works in 8 1/2 x 11 so it’s always neat to see how a 12 x 12 design adapts. We talked all afternoon, laughed at the overheard conversation of our kids (my son, while playing Lego: “I’m the weapon of God!”) and took a break for cupcakes at the new cupcake store in town. I chose a mocha cupcake and YUM is all I can say to that.

I love being able to scrap with my sister – art is so often something you do alone, and I think that’s why I love paper crafting so much – I can share it with others and work in a companionable environment. The conversations we’ve had over paper and adhesive, the photo memories we’ve shared as we worked!

  1. Aw, you’re sweet! That was such a fun day. Long, long overdue. We’ll have to do that again this winter when the mountains of snow are high and the temperatures are too low and we’re starting to go a little stir crazy. Hmm, as long as its not too cold for the kiddos to play outside….

  2. Wish I could join you! I’ve still got PNG years pics that need scrapping. But I think it is a little far to haul all my stuff. :D
