Hi friends! It’s Friday again and I’m breathing a sigh of relief. This was Anti-Procrastination Week for me and I tackled some big projects that were hanging over my head – coordinating our church’s VBS program (and cleaning out a frighteningly messy church storage closet), planning and packing meals for my husband & 11 guys going on an ATV trip (they leave this afternoon), washing my floors, picking saskatoon berries and freezing cherries for pie. I am looking forward to a quiet weekend that will hopefully involve paper crafting – it’s been way too long since I had a good long crafting session!
For our Scrapbooker’s Paradise Playing in Paradise challenge this week, Allison has shared another versatile sketch, and I used it as a starting point for a baby shower card for a friend. I wanted a contemporary look so I used aqua and chartreuse, though the card is for a baby girl! And the sweet little one’s middle name is French, so I threw a little French on the card, just for fun. The rose and the bottom part of the background is stamped using Distress Stain instead of ink. I like the watercolour look this gives.
And I’m really into using windows on my cards to reveal the focal image. For so long I always popped my focal image up with foam tape, so it’s a refreshing change to do the opposite – pop up a frame for the image instead. Lots of pretty stamping on this card!
Are you a sketch fan? I’d love to see what you create using Allison’s sketch, and you could win some great swag from Scrapbooker’s Paradise. Check out the blog today for details and to see what the rest of the team has come up with! And have a wonderful weekend!
