Playing a Little Shopaholic with the new CTMH catalogue.

Last night I hosted and taught a “Christmas in July” advent calendar class. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy opening my studio to a group of students, sharing ideas, supplies and laughter! My husband complains that we spend so much time chatting and playing, we forget the time and keep him up late (our bedroom is only a half wall away!).

The Fall/Winter 2012 Close to My Heart catalogue debuted today and it’s a winner. I am glad that I signed up as a Close to My Heart consultant because the new catalogue has some amazing workshop kits that make teaching classes from my home easier than ever! One workshop I just can’t wait to offer is the Scroll Album workshop. I wish I’d thought of this idea. It’s a beautiful 7.5″ wooden spool, wound with four feet of thick kraft paper and comes with everything you need to make a beautiful showpiece for your home.

I’ll be offering this class on Tuesday, August 21 at 7pm. Cost is $35.95 plus tax. If you’d like to take this class, please email me by August 7th so I can add your kit to my order. Additionally, if you love this scroll album like I do, but can’t make it to a class, you can order the kit through my Close to My Heart consultant site and assemble it at home with minimal extra supplies.

There are quite a few “favourites” in the new catalogue, and I wanted to share them with you. First of all, I’m just peeved that I’m already a consultant, because this month, while supplies last, Close to My Heart is offering this beautiful canvas bag to new consultants as part of the start up kit.

I’ve seen this bag in person (it was also given to consultants who attended Convention in Texas last month) and it’s stunning. A beautiful wipe-clean canvas, solid construction, and a perfect size. Love it! With new consultant kits starting at only $49, it’s worth signing up for the bag alone! I can help you with that, if you feel the way I do about it.

Stuff that I can actually get (and will probably use in an upcoming class) includes the Christmas kit, called Pear & Partridge. It’s lovely classic colours and there is both an card kit and a scrapbooking kit in the catalogue that come with their own exclusive stamp sets. I will need them both.

New My Creations items are always exciting, considering how I love altered items and mini albums. There’s a bracket frame, a canvas journal and a “cubby” that can be purchased as a kit to make an advent calendar!

August’s Stamp of the Month is gorgeous too. Called Baroque Borders, it is a vision of distressy loveliness. And it’s only $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase!

I am just psyched about the pretty in the new Clementine paper kit. This line just squeals “girly mini album” to me, and I can’t wait to make it!

I don’t own a Cricut, but with Close to My Heart working with Cricut to produce not one but TWO cartridges that coordinate with Close to My Heart stamps, I am really tempted to buy myself a third die cutting system! The new Artiste cartridge is sure to generate as much buzz as the Art Philosophy cartridge did last year, and by hosting a gathering, you can buy yours for 50% off (with $250 or more gathering sales total)!

Take a look at my site and let me know what your favourite item is. I’d love to help you get your hands on some Close to My Heart goodness; it just keeps getting better!
