My internet has decided to be extremely slow today. So annoying! Especially because I’m still trying to watch Wednesday’s American Idol performances.
For today’s Scrapbooker’s Paradise challenge, Merlie’s prompt was all about friendship. I am so blessed with many dear friends and so it was easy to create a card that could make a friend gasp with delight.
I really wanted to have a blended, watercolour look for my butterflies, and I tried a couple of different methods before I got the look I wanted. I first tried spritzing two colours of Glimmer Mist on a sheet of acetate, and then stamping using the mist as my ink, but it was too light. Then I tried wetting my paper (watercolour paper works good for this) and then stamping, stamping and then spraying with water, and finally, I just inked my stamp with two colours of ink and spritzed the stamp with water. The paper was still damp so all of these factors worked together and I got the watercolour look I wanted. Seriously, I find it easier just to paint!
Head over to the Scrapbooker’s Paradise blog to see what the rest of the design team has created and to add your own friendship focused project to the link list!
And the whole reason I was messing about with inks and sprays was because I was also playing the Watercolor Butterflies Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World. Right up my alley!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! With my triathlon training schedule, I get to look forward to a couple of long training runs, so I’ve got mixed feelings about the weekend ahead. On the other hand, I love how strong I feel after completing a hard run or cycle. It’s worth it.
