It’s beautiful in the mountains, and on our huckleberry expedition, I found plenty to inspire me when I got time in the painting studio later in the week. I started with this small landscape:
This little study was such fun to paint. I love the contrast of light and shadow – it’s really like that out there, and the evergreen trees are so full of colour, as is the foliage this time of year. And just up yonder, over that rise, is the biggest patch of huckleberry and blueberry bushes, just dripping with berries. It’s a little bit of paradise, even with the blackflies.
“Huckleberry Hill” measures 7″ x 10″ and is available for sale.
