Deadlines are kind of Soul-Crushing
Last week I told you I was going to try a deadline as a way of motivating me to paint more and offer more paintings for sale. Yeah...that's not going to happen.
I started a painting, and it's a very sweet, simple peony that is completely boring me. I could do a weekly painting post, but I wouldn't be creating work that engages me beyond meeting a deadline. I have enough deadlines in my life. What I want from painting is joy, freedom, passion. And I am going to have to be just a little more patient. I cannot tell you how frustrating it was to try to start painting this week and have no space to work in. I need my studio!

So I don't have a new painting for you, but I did learn something.
