Love We Keep - finished painting in acrylic and ink

Yesterday I dropped off a painting donation for our local art gallery's annual fundraiser.  The provincial grants that the gallery relies on have been drastically cut back, and that makes the fundraiser more essential than ever.  The gallery provides canvases to their artists, and the artists paint and return them for a silent auction event, which will be held in late October.
As a watercolour painter, I don't really "do" canvas, but this year I really wanted to participate and so I took a 12" x 12" canvas home and sat on it for a while until I got a vision for what I wanted to do.  Years ago, I purchased a beautiful journal featuring art by Cheri Blum, and I used that and lilacs as my inspiration, mixing acrylic paint and papercraft materials to create this:

I'm very happy with it! There are layers of gesso, paint, crackle medium, ink, and shimmer spray.  I've added charms, buttons and pearls, as well as little paper-punched flowers for dimension.  And I think the quote, from a rubber stamp by Unity Stamp Co., is just beautiful.  I love working with beautiful products to create art, and I hope that the silent auction is well attended and raises lots of money for a gallery that has been so supportive of my work.
