A Thank You & My 2017 Holiday Shopping Guide
Looking Back
As the year comes to an end (how can it be happening so soon!), I find myself with opportunities to look back and reflect. Choosing images for my annual calendar gives me a chance to see how my style has evolved over the year, and that's always fun. And in November I celebrate the fourth anniversary since I started teaching online. It's hard to imagine that only a few years ago, I was simply a mum with a painting hobby and lots of big dreams.
Dreams Realized
It's been a dream come true to be able to make watercolour my life; to work from home so I can spend time with my family, and to share a message that empowers watercolour lovers at all stages of their painting journey. It's always been important to me to be generous with what I have to give; that's why I create weekly free watercolour lessons on YouTube, offer a 30 day no-questions-asked return policy on my online courses, and try to respond personally to every email I receive, which has gotten more challenging as my watercolour community has grown.
My Mission is Your Journey
I know firsthand how encouraging it can be to have someone to guide and coach you as you seek to grow your watercolour skills, to receive answers to your questions and feel a little less alone when paintings don't work out, and that's why I started teaching online before most of us had even heard of online education. At the time, I was seeing responses to my little tutorial videos posted on YouTube and wanted to connect with students in a more intentional way, where we could interact and work through structured lessons to help artists paint more loosely in watercolour.
My very favourite part of teaching online is the people I connect with on a daily basis. Through the internet, I've seen my grace-based "You can love your painting journey" approach encourage and uplift people from all walks of life, in many different situations. I've seen watercolour bless widows as they process the loss of a spouse, patients find rest during terminal illness, mums rediscover their identity after years immersed in children's needs. Watercolour may not end hunger or bring about world peace, but creativity can fill a very real need in our hearts in a hectic, distracted world.
I never want any of my students to feel pressured to enroll in my online classes; if you are enjoying the free content on YouTube and cannot afford a course, that's okay. And if you yearn to take a course, but can't afford one, I offer a "compassion scholarship;" just email me and ask!
2017 Holiday Gift Guide
The words above just needed to preface the Christmas gift guide below. I am so profoundly thankful for you; for your love of watercolour that brought us together. For seeing my heart in my paintings and classes and responding with love. I didn't want you to feel, in receiving this email, that I'm asking for your money, but rather I wanted to make it easy for you to see what I offer, as the various paintings, classes and products are on a number of different web sites. Take a look, bookmark sites of interest, and let your spouse know that Christmas just got a lot more colourful! Click on the images below to see details or order.
2018 Watercolour Calendar
My 2018 watercolour calendar will brighten your year. Featuring twelve of my favourite paintings from the last year, and priced at $29.99 USD. Ships internationally.
Original Art
I'll be adding three new paintings to my web site each week until December 12th. If you've been dreaming of owning an Angela Fehr original painting, if one of my paintings shared through the year has spoken to your heart, I can tell you from personal experience that there is great joy in owning a painting that has a personal connection, that brings you a sense of peace and joy every time you see it in your home. Contact me to start the purchase process, and order in time to frame before Christmas.
In-Person Workshops
Join me in Ireland in September 2018 for a workshop combining travel & painting. The six day workshop will take place on beautiful Mt. Falcon Estate, with tours in County Mayo to inspire our art. Information, itinerary & pricing here.
Watercolour Products from Vida
I've partnered with Vida to add my watercolour paintings to beautiful cashmere & silk scarves, leather & canvas all-purpose tote bags, and while each item is made on-demand with a shipping time of 4-8 weeks, they are worth the wait! I love carrying my art wherever I go, and I always get compliments when I'm wearing an Angela Fehr art piece. And it's much easier to wear a scarf than an actual painting, just saying. Order hereIn northern British Columbia, you can purchase both scarves and totes at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery, or contact me.
